Sesamin FAQ

What is Sesamin?

Sesamin is a lignan isolated from sesame seeds. A lignan is a molecule that combines with another entity acting as an “activator.” In the case of sesamin, it binds to and activates a receptor called Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor Alpha (PPARalpha), which is involved in the regulation of lipid metabolism.



Why should I take Sesamin?

Sesamin is a non-stimulant thermogenic that increases the amount of fat you burn and decreases the amount of fat you store. Sesamin is also a potent anti-oxidant, improves cholesterol levels, increases insulin sensitivity, and aids kidney and liver health.



Who should use Sesamin?

Sesamin can be used by anyone who wants aid in fat loss while dieting, decrease fat gain while trying to gain muscle, or someone looking for a health-improving supplement. Sesamin can be safely used by both men and women.



When/How should I take Sesamin?

Sesamin should be taking with a meal containing at least 10 grams of fat for best absorption. Taking Sesamin with fat will increase lymphatic absorption and the overall effective of it. The recommended dosage is 3 capsules per day, which could be taken at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.



Can I get the same benefits from taking sesame seeds or oil?

No. Sesamin is a specific lignan found in sesame seeds. Commercial seeds and oils have very little sesamin in them and one could not obtain the needed amount to see these effects from seeds or oil.



Some people have reported a decrease in libido while using Sesamin. Does Sesamin decrease libido?

Sesamin should not decrease libido. The reason why people are reporting a decrease in libido is most likely due to decreasing their caloric intake and losing weight. Both your caloric intake and body fat level play a role in your sex drive.



I know Sesamin is a fat loss product, but can it be used while bulking?

Should Sesamin be taken with meals?
